Doctors Hospital of Manteca Employees Raise 960 Pounds of Food for HOPE Family Shelter.  Tenet Healthcare Foundation Matches Donation with $960.00

MANTECA, Calif. – December, 2004 – On November 24, 2004 Doctors Hospital of Manteca made a special delivery to the local nonprofit, HOPE Family Shelter.  Hospital employees delivered over 960 pounds of food that they had raised over a two-week time period.  This year’s  “Feed the Need” challenge was a huge success – and held a special surprise for the HOPE Family Shelter.  Tenet Healthcare Foundation will be matching the donation one dollar per pound. 

“I applaud our nurses, physicians, and employees for their generosity and hard work in the ‘Feed the Need’ challenge,” said Katherine Medeiros, Chief Executive Officer of Doctors Hospital of Manteca. 

“We want to thank Doctors Hospital of Manteca for their generous donation.  HOPE Ministries receives almost 70% of our income from donations,” stated Dave Thompson, Executive Director of HOPE Family Shelter.  “We struggle every year to end up in the black while providing full services to our clients.  We cannot thank you enough for your involvement and generosity,” Dave continued.

This is the third year that Doctors Hospital of Manteca has participated in the Feed the Need Challenge.  Last year, the facility donated over 1300 pounds of food and matched with $1,354.00.
