Doctors Hospital of Manteca makes donation to the American Cancer Society in name of Genoveva Mendoza to celebrate National Nurses Week and National Hospital & Healthcare Week
Manteca, CA – Doctors Hospital of Manteca is asking the community to join in giving health care workers a special expression of gratitude for their service during National Nurses Week and National Hospital and Healthcare Week, held May 6 through May 15. As part of the celebration, DHM and the Tenet Healthcare Foundation have honored an outstanding employee by donating $500 to a charity of the employee’s choice. This year’s recognition goes to Genoveva Mendoza, Environmental Services. The donation is a part of a nationwide effort to honor outstanding employees at Tenet hospitals during National Nurses Week and National Hospital and Healthcare Week that will distribute nearly $50,000 in donations.
“When it comes to going above and beyond the call of duty, it’s never an obvious choice of who to pick” says Katherine A. Medeiros, Chief Executive Officer. “Everyday each employee makes a differences in peoples’ lives, sometimes little, sometimes big. This year we selected Genoveva as our outstanding health care worker for the extra bit of effort she shows on a daily basis."
"These two weeks of celebration should really be carried out through the year because the caring from nurses and hospital staff never stops," said Medeiros. " Genoveva is truly representative of the entire staff at Doctors Hospital of Manteca who make a difference in this community on a daily - hourly - even minute by minute basis."
