Doctors Hospital of Manteca Receives Health Net Recognition
Hospital included on Health Net’s Honor Roll and receives Gold Star

MANTECA, Calif. – May 25, 2006 – Health Net of California recently included Doctors Hospital of Manteca on the 2005 Honor Roll.  This Honor Roll is part of an initiative implemented by Health Net of California to help its members make better health care decisions.  DHM received this recognition because of the hospital’s implementation of patient-focused quality measurement and improvement programs.  DHM is the only hospital in Manteca to receive this ranking.

“By recognizing those who, like us, are committed to enhancing patient safety and improving medical outcomes, we are encouraging everyone to step up their quality and service by making their information publicly available,” said Lance Lang, M.D., vice president and senior medical director for Health Net of California

In addition to the honor roll recognition, Doctors Hospital of Manteca is the only Manteca hospital to be noted with a gold star in Health Net’s Hospital Comparison Report.  The comparison report is an online tool members can use to compare hospitals within Health Net’s network by ranking any of the following criteria: mortality rates, complication rates, lengths of stay, relative costs, and the number of patients treated.

“We encourage our community members to take an active role in making their health care decisions.   On-line tools, such as Health Net’s Hospital Comparison Report, are a valuable service for our community,” stated Doctors Hospital of Manteca’s hospital spokesperson, Carin Sarkis.  “We are proud of this recognition and plan to continue to voluntarily participate in quality reporting efforts such as the Leapfrog Group and the California Hospital Assessment Reporting Taskforce (CHART),” continued Sarkis.
