MANTECA, Calif. – Doctors Hospital of Manteca will be offering free “Brown Bag” Medication Consultations in recognition of national Patient Safety Awareness Week. The consultations will be scheduled March 6 – 8, 2007 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Appointments for the free clinic are mandatory, and space is limited. To register, please call (800) 470-7229. 

    During these appointments, community members are invited to bring in all of their current medications (prescription and over-the-counter) for a one-on-one review with a representative from the Pharmacy Department. Staff will discuss side effects, potential medication interactions, and answer any additional questions. 

    This event is held in conjunction with National Patient Safety Awareness Week, sponsored by the National Patient Safety Foundation. The purpose of the awareness week is to recognize that patients, families and healthcare professionals must work as a team in pursuit of a safe and successful medical experience.
