Doctors Hospital of Manteca Pays Tribute to Health Care Workers

MANTECA, Calif. – This week, Doctors Hospital of Manteca is asking the community to join in giving nurses, physicians and health care workers a special expression of gratitude for their service.  Through the hospital’s Art of Caring campaign, we will celebrate National Nurses Week and National Hospital & Healthcare Week, held May 6 through May 14.

Everyday, nurses and hospital workers answer the call to help patients in need. Whether it’s through a simple act of kindness or an emergency procedure, health care workers know that every moment counts. They work hard to hone their skills, while understanding it takes more than just medicine to treat their patients.

“This week is a time for our community to recognize a group of people who perform a vital service to the community everyday. They truly understand the Art of Caring.” said Katherine A. Medeiros, Chief Executive Officer.  “In addition to doctors and nurses, there are many others who are critical to the health of a hospital such as technicians, food service, environmental service, maintenance people and clerical staff.”

Medeiros added, “It takes compassion, skill and dedication to perform these jobs.  Everyday, our hospital staff comes to work not knowing what to expect, but ready to care for those in need.   National Nurses Week and National Hospital and Healthcare Week are a time say thank you to these extraordinary people.”

As part of the celebration of National Nurses Week and National Hospital and Healthcare Week, the Tenet Healthcare Foundation will honor an outstanding employee at Doctors Hospital of Manteca by donating $500 to the charitable organization of the employee’s choice.  Tenet Healthcare Foundation will distribute approximately $34,000 in donations at Tenet hospitals on this behalf.
