WHO WE ARE

The Doctors Hospital of Manteca Auxiliary is comprised of men and women who are dedicated to serving our community.    

The Auxiliary curriculum is a volunteer-to-patient program.  Our goal is to supply efficient service to patients and to provide each volunteer with a job that is both stimulating and satisfying.  The services we provide are designed to directly impact our patients, the employees and physicians of Doctors Hospital of Manteca, and citizens in our community. 

 The Auxiliary is coordinated through an elected slate of officers: President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer.  Additional chairpersons are assigned for special events and activities (i.e., Scholarship Committee, Gift Shop, Membership Committee, etc.).  Monthly meetings are held to discuss activities and Auxiliary business.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

The Doctors Hospital of Manteca Auxiliary is designed to impact the community.  Auxiliary volunteers are an integral part of the DHM Community Outreach Team.  Volunteers and employees work together to volunteer at health fairs, immunizations, and DHM sponsored community events.  Proceeds from the Auxiliary Gift Shop are used to sponsor a scholarship program. 

JUNIOR VOLUNTEERS

The Junior Volunteers are comprised of boys and girls, ages 14 to 19.  These high school students volunteer between 4:00PM—8:00PM.  The scope of duties include, but are not limited to: assisting at the Hospitality Desk, distributing clean linens, and helping to deliver meal trays.  Special meetings, award programs, and recognition events are provided for the Junior Volunteers. 

HOSPITAL SERVICES

Members of the Doctors Hospital of Manteca Auxiliary volunteer a minimum of fifty (50) in-hospital hours per year.  Volunteer duties are designed to utilize each volunteer’s special skills and talents. 

·          Patient Floor Service—Volunteers visit patients, deliver mail, newspapers, and flowers, and distribute food trays.

·          Hospitality Desk—Patients and visitors are greeted by volunteers at the Hospitality Desk located in the Main Lobby.     Volunteers provide assistance by answering phone calls, giving directions, and providing additional services as needed.

·          Gift Shop—Auxiliary members manage the Doctors Hospital of Manteca Gift Shop.  The Gift Shop carries a lovely   selection of novelty balloons, cards,    and gifts.

·          Outpatient Services—Volunteers assist in Outpatient Surgery.  Activities include keeping the beds clean and made up, assembling packets, folding linens, and assisting patients to their vehicles after surgery.

·          Floater—Auxiliary members also serve as floaters.  Floaters carry documents throughout the hospital, show visitors and      patients to their destinations, and offer general assistance as necessary.
