Specialties

Labor and Delivery

Doctors Hospital of Manteca was one of the first in the area to offer family-centered birthing and labor/delivery/recovery suites.  Every suite gives the new family a feeling of being in a comfortable bedroom.  Our flexible visiting policy allows relatives, friends, and siblings to visit new moms and their babies.  We offer a Childbirth Education Program (Growing Expectations.)

Department of Surgery

Doctors Hospital of Manteca's surgical wing is equipped with technologically advanced medical equipment. An experienced team of physicians, nurses and technicians are available 24 hours every day for emergency surgeries, as well as scheduled surgeries. Numerous types of surgery are done at DHM. Many procedures now qualify as outpatient surgery, which eliminates overnight hospital stays. We also have skilled surgeons qualified in advanced procedures such as laparoscopic surgery and anterior approach hip replacement surgery.

Imaging Services

Diagnosis using advanced imaging procedures is the hallmark of this department. Tests are conducted by certified radiological technologists and interpreted by the hospital's radiologist. A wide spectrum of precise image testing is available, including use of a CT scanner, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI),bone density testing equipment, and advanced computerized nuclear medicine.

The Women's Imaging Center is a special part of this department. An all-female staff performs mammograms to help detect breast cancer. Upon request, the staff will provide one-on-one breast self-exam education. Ultrasound is used as diagnostic tool for pregnancy, and it is also used to detect solid masses and cysts in conjunction with a mammogram.

The center also offers stereotactic core biopsy and ultrasound or x-ray guided needle biopsy to obtain breast tissue samples without surgery.

Orthopedics

Orthopedic surgery is surgery performed by a medical specialist trained to deal with problems that develop in the bones, joints, and ligaments of the human body.  The range of treatments done by an orthopedist is enormous.  Technology has improved the options for people who suffer from hip pain.  Doctors Hospital of Manteca now offers such an option, called the Anterior Approach Hip Replacement - an alternative to traditional hip replacement surgery.
