CEO Dr. Murali Naidu Discusses Not Delaying Your Medical Needs

Feb 25, 2021

To Our Community:

We hope your 2021 is off to a safe and healthy start. We want to take this time to remind you that our community hospitals are open and safe to care for you and your loved ones. We can safely provide any needed care in our hospital and emergency department.

After a long year with the COVID-19 pandemic, we are finally making headway with decreased transmission due to vaccines and continuing to wear masks, maintain social distance and wash our hands frequently. Until we achieve significant rates of vaccination in our communities, it’s important for us to continue using these practices to help stop the spread.

Healthcare is most effective when we catch diseases early. If you’ve been putting off your medical needs or screenings such as mammograms, colonoscopies or diabetes check-ups due to fear of coming to the hospital, there is no need to delay your care. In fact, it can be dangerous to do so. Now is the time to get the care you need. Screenings and check-ups that are often covered by insurance can alert you to health conditions that need addressing sooner rather than later. We have seen an increase in later stage diseases, such as foot ulcers and cancers, which has resulted in more major surgeries. Please remind your loved ones to see their physician if they’re experiencing any health issues.

Our teams are dedicated to making sure our hospital is a safe place for our patients. Whether you come to us with an emergency, for a surgery or to deliver your baby, your safety is our top priority. If you postponed a joint replacement or weight loss surgery due to the pandemic, please consult with your physician.

We continue to care for all patients who come to us with healthcare needs not related to COVID-19. This includes broken bones, chest pain, heart attacks and strokes. We have separate care pathways for potential or confirmed COVID-19 patients. Every precaution is being taken, combining strong infection prevention processes, staff training, testing and ample supply of personal protective equipment. We are committed to universal protection and safety for every person who walks through our doors.

It is our privilege to care for our community and provide the quality service you and your loved ones deserve. We are here for you whenever you may need us.
