Doctors Hospital of Manteca Auxiliary Awards Scholarships to Local Students
Jul 18, 2019Manteca, Calif. – The Doctors Hospital of Manteca Auxiliary volunteers have awarded $15,000 in scholarships to nine local students for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year.
Profits from the volunteer-run hospital gift shop fund the annual scholarships for college students who are pursuing careers in healthcare and students earning their master’s degree in a medical field.
Applications are reviewed and chosen based on grade point averages, volunteer history, community involvement, leadership experience and financial need.
Applicants are required to reside within the boundaries of the Manteca Unified School District, which includes Lathrop, French Camp and Weston Ranch, or the Ripon Unified School District. They must also be registered in at least their second year of classes at an accredited community college or four-year college or university.
The Doctors Hospital of Manteca Auxiliary has been providing scholarships since the opening of the facility in 1962. Scholarships are awarded annually, with applications becoming available in mid-February.
