Doctors Hospital of Manteca Earns 'A' in Patient Safety from Leapfrog GroupNov 7, 2019
Manteca, Calif. – Nov. 7, 2019 – Doctors Hospital of Manteca was awarded an “A” from The Leapfrog Group’s Fall 2019 Hospital Safety Grade, a national distinction recognizing the hospital’s achievements protecting patients from harm and providing safe healthcare for the Central Valley.
The Hospital Safety Grade is designed to give consumers information they can use to make healthcare decisions for themselves or a loved one. The Safety Grade assigns an A, B, C, D or F grade to all general hospitals across the country based on their performance in preventing medical errors, injuries, accidents and infections.
“Offering our patients trusted care in a safe environment is our top priority. We focus on driving improvements in care delivery and patient satisfaction every day,” said Beverly Fick, Chief Nursing Officer at Doctors Hospital of Manteca. “This rating recognizes our commitment to placing safety at the forefront of our patients’ care and providing high-quality care to the Manteca community.”
“‘A’ hospitals show us their leadership is protecting patients from preventable medical harm and error,” said Leah Binder, President and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “It takes genuine commitment at every level – from clinicians to administrators to the board of directors – and we congratulate the teams who have worked so hard to earn this A.”
Developed under the guidance of a national Expert Panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 28 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign grades to more than 2,600 U.S. acute-care hospitals twice per year. The grades are peer-reviewed, fully transparent and the results are free to the public.
