Meet Our Bariatric Nurse Coordinator

Karen is the Bariatric Nurse Coordinator for Doctors Hospital of Manteca. With compassion and care, she helps patient navigate their weight-loss journey and supports them before, during and after surgery. This includes post-surgery hospital visits and guidance for a successful recovery. Karen also teaches monthly weight-loss education classes and leads support groups. She understands that every patient's situation is unique and advocates for the best outcomes.

Karen has been a nurse for 26 years, and has 21 years of experience providing direct care to bariatric patients. In addition, she served on the Bariatrics Committee at Stanford Health Care – Valley Care for 16 years, and has been certified in orthopedics since 2005 and bariatrics since 2007. She also holds a bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN).
